Do you fancy a day in the city or beach then this is due to the location of Koningshof no problem. A number of Dutch cities and beautiful beaches are in a short distance from the park. Hours of fun shopping, interesting sights, beautiful museums, beautiful dunes and sunny beach days are at your doorstep!
The beaches of Katwijk, Noordwijk and Scheveningen
On sunny days you can go to one of the beaches in the area. The seaside resorts Katwijk, Noordwijk and Scheveningen offer beaches, each with its own atmosphere. Katwijk is a good choice for a beach day with the family. Here you will find a vast beach along a boulevard. Between late 2013 and early 2015 the coast and dunes of Katwijk has been redecorated. This coastal work in Katwijk is a unique and innovative project and definitely worth a look.
Noordwijk can be seen as the hipper brother of the Katwijk beach. Here you will find beautiful beaches and a fun a modern shopping center. Ideal for a day out with teens or with friends.
On the beaches of Scheveningen you may find some more tourists, but this place also offer you next to the beach a wide range of entertainment.
With its beautiful canals and old Dutch courtyards, Leiden is certainly worth it. Follow the Leiden Loper, it will lead you along the most beautiful spots of the city. The birthplace of Rembrandt has a rich history that will surely please you. Of course you can shop in Leiden, also go for a day trip. The town hosts a number of famous Dutch museums; The Lakenhal Museum, National Museum of Antiquities, Boerhaave Museum and Corpus Experience are just a few of the diverse cultural offerings. Do you want to see Leiden in a different way? Then a boat trip is a great way to explore the city!
The political capital of our country is in many ways very attractive for a day trip. For example, you can visit the Binnenhof, The Peace Palace and Madurodam. Scheveningen beach sunbathing lends itself well for a day or a stroll along the boulevard. In the evenings here you can also catch a movie or try your luck in the casino.
Obviously, our capital should not be missing in the list of attractive cities. From Leiden Central Station you are in the center of Amsterdam in about 45 minutes. Here you will find the world famous Madame Tussauds, The Amsterdam Dungeon and The Anne Frank House. Shopping is done in the lively Kalverstraat and do not forget walking around in the 9 straatjes (nine streets) of Amsterdam!
